It is our goal to be a beacon of hope and a safe haven for orphaned, abused, and rejected children and young women. We are committed to restoring and nurturing physical health, emotional well-being, social development, and spiritual awareness of a loving God who will never leave them, nor forsake them. We work to reunite children with their biological family when possible, or place them in a permanent adoptive family.
Caring for the abandoned and abused

Five years before the start of Rainbow Village, a group of Christian women became aware of the increasing need for a shelter for abandoned babies in the city of Dumaguete. They started praying for guidance and direction concerning such a shelter. Read Aaron's Story for a little more of the early background.
The Kimball family came to Dumaguete City in 1990 as missionaries. They too had a vision for an orphanage, and felt directed by God to open their home to abandoned and needy babies and children. It was originally incorporated as Rainbow Orphanage in 1991.
Today, Rainbow Village is a licensed and accredited child-caring agency through DSWD, also able to care for young women and girls who are victims of sexual abuse. We operate through donations from churches and individuals from around the world. Our staff is comprised of both local staff and volunteer missionaries.
